This photo was taken in February 2007 the day KCSE results were announced. I was doing mjengo at Anestar Precious Girls School in Nakuru. We were doing a 12ft underground tank and the day the exams were announced we were busy working then all over sudden students from Anestar Boys Bahati came celebrating as they were told I was there working. I was the 4th best student with an A(-) Grade. Chem A, Biology A, Agriculture A, Kiswahili A, History A, Math B, English B(-) and Business Studies B(-). The students came celebrating, I was removed from the 12ft pit and they lifted me and everyone was celebrating. Almost the two months that I was doing mjengo there no one noticed me. I was just another ordinary kibarua guy but from that day, even the teachers, cooks, all students and fellow workers changed their perception. Student would come next to me during breaks and would ask for advise on how to pass exams and even some came with past papers to ask for help on how to solve the problems. A good number of the girls started having a crush on me to the extend of some one day fighting for me(jamaa ule wa mjengo). One day the girls even stole my cap and I could see it rotate on different ladies during the weekend. After two weeks the director of the school promoted me and I became a Maths, English and Science teacher at their primary school.
All over sudden the perception of people and how they treated me changed, even my won out cap/kofia gained value. Just the announcement of the results changed my value and I became a teacher and a crush to many. I started receiving invitation from different schools to motivate their students and by the time I was joining the university I had been invited to more than 10 secondary schools including Njoro Girls and Nakuru High School.
That is what God will do in your life. He is working behind the scenes on your favor and when the appointed time comes even your area local authorities will recognize you. When God change your perception, people will change their perspective of you which really means to “see” you from a different vantage point, through different eyes. It doesn’t mean the experience didn’t happen. It simply means that He will attach a different meaning and value to you.
This also tells us that tutikamenere andu githithi… you never know the capacity, ability and potential in the person next to you that is not unleashed. some of the people around us are carrying treasures that if God would open your eyes you would treat them differently. Our God perceives our situations differently and sometimes He deliberately allows us to go through pain, despair, loss, shame and gather scars to prepare us to be what He wants us to be. Every one in the world is a work in progress. Even those people we see and think they have it all e.g President Uhuru Kenyatta, President Trump, Messi, Governor Sonko, Christ Kirubi etc, you might think they have achieved everything but deep within they also have an issue they are trusting God for and God is preparing them for something. He is perceiving us differently and people are also perceiving us differently and once the appointed time comes for God to make everything beautiful people shall change their perception of you.
Maybe you are wondering when your time will come for the Lord to make a table for you before your enemies, the time that He will make you an epistle and a ‘FOR EXAMPLE’ of what He can do.

Have you ever thought, “It’s too late for me?” That’s what two sisters in the scripture thought, Mary and Martha. Their brother, Lazarus, was extremely sick. They sent word to their good friend, Jesus, to come to their city and pray for him. A day went by and Jesus didn’t show up. They asked the messengers, “Did you tell Jesus it was us?” “Yes, we told Him.” “Did you explain how sick Lazarus was?” “We explained it to Him.” They couldn’t understand why Jesus wouldn’t come immediately. Lazarus ended up dying. Four days later, Jesus showed up. Mary said, “Jesus, if You had been here sooner, my brother would still be alive.”

Have you ever felt like God showed up too late? If He’d just got there a little sooner, maybe things would have worked out. That’s the way these sisters felt. But Jesus spoke to Lazarus, and he came back to life.

The sisters wanted Jesus to come and heal their brother. But Jesus wasn’t thinking about a healing, He was thinking about a resurrection. A healing would have been good, but Jesus had something better in mind. Always remember, God has another option. No matter how bad your circumstances look, it’s never too late with Him!
My friend, keep trusting, Keep waiting, Keep believing. God is deliberate on causing the delay and bringing the pain because He want to use you as a ‘FOR EXAMPLE’ for people to know that He cannot only heal the situation but He can resurrect and bring to life situations and circumstances. He is working behind the scenes on your favor and when the appointed time comes people will change their perception of you and they will all want to associate with you. great opportunities and favor will come, doors will open, they will have crush on you and you shall be promoted. Keep your hope alive!
