My life as an Emergency First Responder { Under Makinika Afrika Int } has been an adventurous life involving dangerous rescues and lifesaving missions. I have responded to dozens of road accidents, collapsed buildings, a terrorism incident, community conflicts and fire incidents sometimes witness massive loss of lives and in most cases saving a lot of lives. It has been very fulfilling when people come to appreciate me for helping them in an emergency. Being a member of Kenya National Fire Brigade Association (KENFIBA) I have responded to a number of major infernos in the country or participated in training of the public on Disaster Preparedness and Response majoring on fire incidents. Never underestimate the power of an inferno. Within thirty seconds fire doubles up. Its heat, smoke and fumes emission as well as speed make it very dangerous. A spark alone can lead to a serious inferno. Fire knows no barrier and doesn’t give up easily. When it chose to destroy it does so with passion and enthusiasm. We should put up the spirit of an inferno and purpose to focus unto our dreams with all vigor and zeal. Go against all odds to achieve the wildest dreams and overcome all obstacles. Don’t fear the presence of life’s Fire fighters, keep burning, don’t be intimidated by shouts, screams and sirens, glow and grow. Fire grows from ignition stage, growth stage, development stage to decay stage and the best time to extinguish it is ignition stage and incase of the worst growth stage. In pursuit of your dreams, adversities and challenges might attempt to extinguish you even from your ignition stage but you have to threaten them and keep burning. Even when they come with the largest life’s fire engine you have to scare them away with your hot inferno, fumes and speed. Be your best and keep fighting. Perseverance, endurance and patience are the three greatest survival skills. Go against all odds and don’t you dare be extinguished on the way.
