SEVERE BLEEDING

There are two types of bleeding:-

  1. Internal Bleeding
  2. External Bleeding

Incase of Severe bleeding, the main objective is to stop bleeding and prevent shock. Assess DR ABC(Danger, Response, Airway, Breathing, Circulation) and follow the EXPECT procedure:

E – Expose the wound carefully and quickly

X – Examine the wound for any protruding bone or embedded object

P – Apply direct pressure(may combine with indirect pressure for very severe bleeding)

E – Elevate

C – Cover with a sterile dressing or clean clothing

T – Treat for shock

Call an Ambulance.
